Conical Italian Controlled Bubbles Paperweight
« on: November 15, 2013, 03:38:39 PM »
Clear cone-shaped paperweight with a globe-shaped controlled bubbles area inside.  Much prettier than my terrible photo.  About 4" high.  Red/gold Made in Italy label (does not state Murano).  Ground & polished pontil.  Not signed.

Hi.

All I would suggest is beware of labels that sound Italian in name (but are not known factories), or say 'Made in Italy' but no more, or say 'Style of Murano'.  These labels may sometimes be correct - and could be in this case - but are sometimes just importer's labels (the importer having bought a few crates of several hundred identical pieces from China at $1 per item...and decided not to disclose that fact).
