Not Clichy
« on: December 05, 2013, 05:31:20 PM »
I strongly believe that this is not an antique Clichy, and that the scratches on the base don't look like normal wear. The swirl is not made in the Clichy disk way and the central cane looks more like Murano to me than Clichy. The scratches on the bae are so consistently deep as to make me think of sandpaper. If folks don't want to post replies during the pendancy of the auction I fully understand but did want to put out a message of "buyer beware".

And on the other hand it is a pretty one.

Hi.  Looks like a flat polished base, consistent with Murano. I agree it does not look like any Clichy swirl I have seen.

Sold for $759.99

Obviously I'm missing something. Maybe it was made by some other desireable factory?
