Davidsons Cloud bowl, amber bowl & Pink unknown bowl

(1/2) > >>

Tigerchips:
I'm having a little difficulty identifying which pattern number these Davidsons bowls belong to. The patterns look mostly the same and the sizes seem different to mine. Perhaps it's just me being less than Intelligent. Any ideas?
13.25 inches diameter

9.75 inches diameter

This one is on Pamela's site as Unknown, any ideas? There are a lot of straw marks.

11 inches from handle to handle.

Thanks.  :)

ChrisStewart:
Hi,
the 13.25 inch one is either a 699 or  699D bowl, the other a S696D. The nominal diameters of this range are:

S/696 D      9"
696D          12"
699D           14.5"

I have yet to find one whic were exactly these sizes !!

Chris

Tigerchips:
Thanks again Chris, I think the Cloud one is 699D as it has an upturned rim.

I'm surprised that they are not all the same size. I thought that if something was put in a mould it would be the same size each time. That shows you how much I know about glass.

I've never noticed this before but the Cloud seems to follow the pattern that's on the outside.  :o And looking at your site I can see now that they painted them. I'm learning, slowly but surely.  :D

Please note: I have only owned one piece of Cloud glass before this one (more to come, hopefully).

Also, Someone once described Cloud glass as "Tiger" glass. Is this true?

Not that I bought it for that reason.

Thanks.  :)

Lustrousstone:
Hi Tiger It's my understanding that cloud glass is not painted, but two or more colours swirled lightly together at the molten stage

I should have said 'either a 696D or 699D bowl'
