If you can't see the wood for the trees, then get a copy of Mervyn Gulliver's 'Victorian Decorative Glass' - British Designs 1850 - 1914....which has the potential to help with Victorian glass made in this style - and, of course, acres of other decorative Victorian glass

Having said that, I've just looked through the book and unable to see anything with this type of surface decoration. I'm assuming it's a mould effect - although unsure whether it's copying the effect of machine threading, deliberately, or not. Looked at quickly machine threading is the impression you get, but I'm fairly sure it's not. How do you think the effect is produced Stew??
Feet like this do suffer massively from contact problems, and I think you'd be hard pressed to see a genuine piece devoid of any fleabites or chips - sometimes with quite substantial loss, and if yours is perfect then you are extremely lucky. What in fact is the extent of wear on the feet?
I take it there is definitely no glow from the amber looking decoration.
