I have these two pieces that look Murano to me, can someone help me narrow them down?

The first is 1970s Italian, maker unknown. The second is not Murano glass - I believe it is Polish.

The second: I do have an identically coloured dish with a partial label. There is no mention of Murano, but it does state:
HAND MADE
GENUINE
HANDBLOWN

The label is red and silver foil with an irregular shape and has been partially protected by the ground base with concave, ground and polished pontil mark.

Thanks, folks - let me try another one here instead of starting a new thread:

This one has a white base with a lot of gold bits (is this 'lattimo"?) and a green spiral, and petals around the rim. I've seen similar stuff in different colors on eBay attributed to Fratelli Toso.

I would say Fratelli Toso is spot on and think the earlier lime green piece may also be by them or possibly Salviati.

BTW, I don't have a picture yet, but does anyone happen to know what glass maker uses/used an oval sticker with a picture of a gondola on the bottom half? I have a piece with a very faded sticker, the gondola is about all I can make out of it.

All the labels are listed in the Murano 101 labels (see Sticky topic in Murano section) as well, but Anne's gallery does strip away all the natter!

Joyce, as it seems you have a number of Murano pieces, I recommend that you get Leslie Pina's Fratelli Toso book. There you will find many of the more commonly found Murano designs and styles.

As probably the most productive of Murano glasshouses in the mid- 20th century and one of the longest lived (1854-1980) an attribution to Fratelli Toso is often the most reasonable one to make and hard to challenge.

However the way that Murano worked and still works as a glassmaking centre with glassblowers moving companies and many firms working in very similar styles it's almost impossible to be 100% sure in the many cases.

So if it's in the book then great. If it looks similar to something in the book then add a "probably" and keep your mind and your eyes open.
