Interesting Murano piece.

Here's an interesting piece.

One of my sisters gave this to me for Christmas a few years back, she paid $5 for it in a Junk Shop.

I told her how gorgeous it was, while thinking "this is the ugliest piece of glass I've ever seen. lol

At the time, I thought it looked like the top of a canister, and assumed the canister had been broken. Now, I assume it'ssimply an art piece with a built in "riser".

Having bought and sold lots of Murano pieces (mostly paperweights) since then, I've developed a love of well made millefiori, and I'm very fond of latticino pieces.

This (because of the shape, and the frosted and colored flowers on top, plus the necklace of clear glass around the middle, still make this . . .

Any idea which factory and era this belongs to?

Would you define it as very collectible?

Thanks for all the help.

Bob
