500PK
This cutting pattern is defined by: a group of three horizontal and parallel lines crossed by two others, that support a star polygon 12,14 or 16 points, in systematic repetition.
This decoration on glass, since 1929, has been imposed as a classic of international success being infinitely applied *.
* We highlight the figure of Master Ludvík Prostředník (1897-1973)

The shadow of František Vizner is very dense but not so dense as to vanish the figure of other contemporary geniuses such as Pavel Ježek (1938-1999).
Here we celebrate two of his designs for Škrdlovice (# 7419, # 7930).

Glassware
Among the varied production of glassware of the Heinrich Hoffmann house there is a line that approaches and sometimes subscribes to the postulates of ArtDeco
(style that was defined and imposed in the “Exposition des Arts Decoratifs et Industriels Modernes” - Paris 1925, which supposed the break with the "Neoclassical" legacy and the soft and sweetened response to the change in aesthetics imposed by the new "avant-garde",read Cubism,Suprematism, etc ...).
It is not for these notes, but also, for which we have illustrated this design: it is for its, for us, subtle and complex allegory.

In these designs, like those presented by Jaroslav Lebeda at the Universal Exhibition in Brussels (1958).
Karel Wünsch updates classic techniques of cutting on two-tone glass, managing to adapt them to the "modern" taste in a charming and effective way.

Thorned
These thorny vases (trn = thorn in czech) seem inhabitants of our unconscious, sum of Eros and Thanatos.
By adding a flower our Super-mi makes them tolerable to our consciousness.

Espinados.

This design of simple beauty and complex technique was presented and awarded at the 1967 Liberec fair and exhibited in 1970 at the Osaka International.
It was part of the catalog of Karlovarske Sklo (Moser), after it absorbed the production of Mstisov.

[Thank you: Sue (M) and all who appreciate this work.]

There is no greater satisfaction than solving a dilemma.
Jiří Harcuba was happy to face the challenges that art poses.
