No guarantee  but it looks like Empoli 1970s. It would have had a lid and be used for cotton balls on the dessing table. Welcome to the board - it is a really nice piece - in trms of presence and colour.

I used to have one of those, no idea what happened to it though, nice to know it might be Empoli.  But (to Ivo) with a rim like that, how would a lid have been accommodated?

Flange hangs inside, dome with a nice black finial sits on top. It does not have to be smooth to work.

Yes they are Italian glass making places 300 km (185 miles) apart.
