loetz papillon small vase?
« on: March 25, 2014, 09:15:43 PM »
Hi all,i've walked past this piece several times in one of my haunts because i think it's a factory second, on the base there seems to be a foreign body of some sort and a small chip just above it with another close to it.Something must be rubbing off from here because i felt it might be loetz and on looking it up i feel it is close to their papillon pieces,it's 4" high and don't worry about letting me down easy it was under a tenner, maybe the right price with the damage.

Ok,maybe not Loetz then ???i thought i'd just add that light from behind kills the blue and in more shade the bluer it gets,so it's difficult to get a decent photo, but here's another anyway and you have to imagine the mottled blue all over lessening a bit as it moves up the neck.

This shape is not on any of the Papillon pages that I could find, but I would say it is definitely a Creta Papillon example....

Pretty piece.
I have been told that glass is my mistress......
