Hello,

I have a group of long legged clowns.  I was wondering if anybody could tell me a little about them please?  Anything at all would help.  I was hoping that they were Murano, but they look nothing like Murano at all - purchased blind on a telephone bid with some real Murano glass pieces - disappointed that they aren't what I thought they would be but the vases are nice pieces :-/

I did see one clown , very similar in style/colours, and it had a gold  ' Made in Taiwan' sticker on it. I didn't buy it, so I can't prove it,sadly, but I think it might be a good starting point perhaps for these .

They look like lampwork, so could be from almost anywhere. The colours don't look bright enough for modern hot glass Chinese or Romanian pieces. I bet the little one bottom left has uranium glass trim too. I think they're rather nice

Thank you for your replies.  You've made me feel a little fonder of them, but not fond enough to keep them :-( - just as well - I have far too many glass items, not enough space to display them!!

It's nice to hear that others like and collect them - I was very surprised at how many people have replied to my query and thank you for your input.

I think that Bruce Banners chaps have much more character!!!

Thank you again.  I have a vase with what looked like Bambi attached to it, I'm going to have a look through the message boards to see if anybody has posted something like it first before I post it as a new query, it came with the 'Murano' glass but it is sprayed with gold paint, so probably not either.
