pooleandpaperweights:
When do these date to?

I have one with a brass fitting and the weight section is very typical Strathearn with "chunky white" twists.

Alan said earlier ...
--- Quote ---I wonder if it might be a very early (and untidy) Perthshire example, given the ribbon twists for spokes.

There are plenty of Strathearn and Vasart Ltd weights that use very nice ribbon twists.

But ... If I were a betting man, I would put my money on a rank outsider in an Ascot Ladies Day race rather than try to guess a Vasart Ltd. / Strathearn / Early Perthshire by fittings and twsits!!  :)

Catisfaction:
Thank you everyone, I very much appreciate the thoughts and insights.

Frank:
I would say no earlier than 60s because of fitting.
