Murano/Czech cranberry dish ID Help please
« on: August 03, 2014, 05:58:15 PM »
Any thoughts please on this 22 inches wide cranberry and clear dish. I originally thought Murano and then considered Czech, would be grateful for any suggestions. Hopefully European at least. All suggestions on origin appreciated John

I would add Chalet to your list of suspects.

Thanks Sue,Chalet is new to me but looks worth pursuing. Canadian has to be better than Chinese, yes??

There are some completely lovely bits of Chinese glass, but I know where you're coming from. ;)
This does have the look of Chalet to me, not that I know much.

Pretty sure it's not Chalet, although Chalet did do cranberry and similarly-styled pieces.  The piece looks newer to me. Is the base Chamfered? Hard to see in photo.

Base edges are lightly chamfered, not really obvious unless you look closely
