Hi All,

Would welcome any thoughts on this Art Deco uranium glass covered box.

8 Sided octagonal shape, with fluted panels to the front and sides. The cover, has two stylised flowers moulded in relief to the reverse. The box stands on 8 small feet.

I noticed on the base there is a very small mark, I'm not sure if this has occurred post production or not, I have tried to capture this in the last photo.  The mark may well be insignificant, however, I would think it is unlikely to be surface wear, due to the 8 small feet.

Length: 16cm
Width: 9.5cm
Height: 16cm (to top of cover)
Weight: 1230 grams

I can't recall seeing this design previously, my original thoughts were perhaps British or German/Czech.  I've trawled through Pamela's websites and other literature, although no exact matches thus far.

Any suggestions most welcome.  :)

I'm clueless; I've never seen anything like it; it's lovely;
Could the flowers be anenomes? Would that help any search? They have a round blobby bit in the middle, with hairy bits around it.

How many mould fractions would there have been? It looks as if it has been really well finished off - probably by hand?
It just screams; "Quality".
Cheers, Sue M. (she/her)

Thanks for taking a look Sue.  :)

They could be anemones, difficult to know for sure, I'll try a few other searches to see if it throws anything up.

I suspect it may well have been finished by hand, its really quite hard to see the seam lines. The seam is noticeable on the base section only. I suspect the main body, was produced in four sections, judging by the base, its really quite tricky to see. Good reaction under UV light.

It reminds me of those old refrigerator glass boxes that came in sets and were often this green color with this satin finish.
