Thanks John,nice examples you have there and the background colour is what i was hoping to see,do you have a formula for photoing iridescent glass.

To show the iridescence you need light reflecting off the surface (instead of passing through the glass). I find a dark background helps - I used a sheet of black card in those photos. I put my lights next to the camera to provide plenty of reflection.
