Hi all, this glass is about 8cm ht with engraved roses and rose buds in a a style i hope someone might recognise,if i had to guess i'd say continental late 30's,there's no pontil mark but alot of wear along the outer edge it sits on and has a nice ring.

sorry, can't help with attribution - vaguely like a brandy balloon perhaps, and my thoughts would be more recent than you suggest.
In the absence of a backstamp or particular cut pattern, then I'd think that only rarely can safe attributions be made by particular styles of engraving  -  some of the distinctive modernist designs possibly  -  but generally too unreliable.

I'd also suggest that the engraving would be seen more clearly without the fussy background  -  if you have a large sheet of dark grey or black paper you'd get less distraction.            Another go perhaps? :)

 Hi ,
This design of a stylized rose was used on Jacobite glasses in the 18th c ,however yours of course is much much later .

cheers ,
             Peter.
