Beautiful iridescent vase - ID (probably) Alum Bay
« on: October 03, 2014, 01:27:33 PM »
Any ideas please on this beautiful looking (I think anyway) irridescant vase. 9 inches tall x 5 inches diameter at rim. Silver and purple on blue background. I did wonder about Heron Glass perhaps, but quite possibly not even English.
Allsuggestions appreciated, John

Interesting find. A pure guess to kick things off would be possibly Okra. I know some are labelled rather than signed.

The overall shape, looks similar to the Alum Bay example in the link below. This one measures 7 inches, however their vases are usually produced in more than one size.

Thanks Greg for suggestions, having looked at various images I think I would lean towards Alum Bay of the two. The Okra stuff looks a lot more refined and less abstract.
