Please Help Me Identify This Vase
« on: March 01, 2015, 09:36:50 AM »
Hello, I am trying to identify this vase. I have scoured the Internet, reading countless articles, and stared at so many vase pictures, I am going cross-eyed. :-\ The person who sold it to me said it is Murano but there is no label or signature. Based on what I have seen online, might it be Czech spatter glass? And the applied green trail is unusual with its spiral form and darker green stripes. The base has a smoothed pontil mark, there are numerous air bubbles, and dark speck inclusions - which seem to point to it being hand blown. Have you seen anything like this or know the manufacturer/artist? I am not afraid to research, so even a point in the right direction is appreciated!

Welcome to the board. Can we have a base shot of your vase and dimensions please. I suspect, however, that it is very modern, perhaps Chinese or Eastern European

Thank you, Christine. I will post the base pics & dimensions when I arrive home. The color and weight made me suspect modern and Chinese origin but not sure how to definitively conclude any of this. More soon - thank you!
