There seems to be a lot more clear casing near the base of the vase?

You could always send the piccy to the smaland Museum www.smalandmuseum.se to see if they think it is Ekenas ! ( where the 'Ek in Sweden was that? near Vaxjo or Smaland?)

Anne - your vase looks very similar in shape to mine.  Mine is only 8½" high and has a 5mm thick clear blue base which is fairly flat.  The handle on yours looks to be higher at the top, but that's probably because your's is taller.  Mine too has a clear crisp white interior, and a flat polished rim.
