Italian Corroso glass EXPERT needed ....VASE1
« on: March 20, 2015, 01:23:32 PM »
Hi again, I've two vases of my Grandmothers, I will list them separately.
I think they date to the 20's /30's but I wonder if they could be as late as 50's.
I'm assuming Italian Murano glass in the CORROSO technique.
Could they be important pieces by
Alfredo Barbini or Flavio poli for the seguso vetri d'arte firm.
Carlo Scarpa?

Any help you can give will be gratefully received

Hi Simon,
this is not "corroso". Same for your other piece.
If it is from Murano (I don't know), probably the term "a scavo" would be appropriate.

>> link to a corroso piece, including a good close-up of the surface

Thanks Michael, greatly appreciated. I'll follow the scavo thread.

Gordiola, just like the other one. The pontil mark is a giveaway.
