I saw a similar one recently on the fleamarket, unfortunately every seller there seems to believe that any paperweight is antique and thus worth a 3-digit sum..

Yes antique shops/fairs can be hit and miss, but have you tried car boot sales? This is where I picked this one up and it did not cost me much...

sorry for the delayed reply, I somehow missed your post...

I am a real carboot fanatic :)
And often I manage to find nice glass for little money. But not paperweights...
First, there seem to be rather few around; I was at a huge carboot today, with several hundreds of sellers, and saw a total of perhaps 5 paperweights (mix of Chinese, Czech/Bohemian, one by Eisch).
Second, almost any paperweight I ask the price for, will be too expensive (for what it is).

But I won't give up yet, I haven't started but a few weeks ago to look closer into the matter ;D
