Topic: Beautiful Studio Glass Vase - Signed but no identity. Help Pls!

Hello,

Here I have another piece which I sadly know nothing about.  I've owned this for approx. 10yrs.  It measures 7" high and 3.6" at the widest point.  The base is rough and the signature is to the side of the base at the bottom of the vase.  It is v tiny so difficult to photograph.  Pls do let me know if you recognise this.

I really can't make out much of the pic of the signature.
Would you rub a little talcum powder over it and remove the excess with your thumb, and photograph it again?
That really helps to bring the letters out. (if it could be in focus, that would help loads too).
Having said that, I am wondering if it might turn out to read "Gro Bergslein". The shape of the last word might be consnstent with that name and the colours do look similar to some of her work.

Thank-you so much! It does help to make it more legible doesn't it?
But I still don't know if it might read "Bergslein". I have a piece by her, but it's just marked "Hadeland Gro". It has been made using a four-pronged pontil rod, so the base finish is quite different, but different companies used different ways of sinishing and marking things.

I've been googling a bit - it brought me back here.  I've found this quote from Alexander,

"Gro Bergslien was employed at Hadeland until 1971, attached as a freelancer until 1985, after which she went to work for Hallingglass.
(Moderne Antikviteter by Rolf Simeon Andersen  & Astrid Olsen, ISBN 82-520-3560-4)"

Mmmmm - having done the usual google hunting I can see why you would suggest Gro... there are some similar pieces but I just can't quite see the signature as that.  I'm seeing "P B.......", clear as mud!

One of those pieces that turns up is my one.
It's sort of brown, with pink and multicoloured splodges, with a sort of chimney neck, a bit embedded into the round base body.  I don't know why it turns up there as a full image, but when I get back here, it's in a photobucket link.
I don't click on pb links any more - they mess my pc up. I may have to retake it's piccie for you.

Your piece does look a bit Gro-ish. I really like her work.

Thanks as always Sue.  Yes, I'm starting to really enjoy looking at her work too!  No other responses so far but there's hope yet that someone will parachute in with a definitive ID!
