Please help with these, Walsh Pompeian or S&W & Blue
BJB:
Hi,
Here are a few of my carboot finds
This I thought might have been Walsh Pompeian, but I now wonder if is S&W Caerleon. It is very iridesed and very bubbly. It has a lovely ground pontil mark to the base.

This one is very light and has a lovely gold label

(Label reads mundgeblasen hadgeformt)
Thankyou,

Hello Barbara, I'm not that familiar with this sort of thing, but I did not think that Walsh Pompeian was irridised, also any bit I've ever seen was not quite as bubbly as this, which looks like proper pulegoso to me, as opposed to the more "Clutha" style of bubbliness of Walsh.
Caerleon is surface decorated, not bubbly, according to the picture in Lesley Jackson.
It is a good piece, whatever it is. I think I might want to start looking in an eastern european direction.
The blue piece says "Norway" to me. I don't know what the label says, or if it is Norwegian written on it.
Cathy B:
Hi Barbara,
Re the blue vase!
I posted on the board some time ago with a vase which had the same label. Ivo's suggestion was that it was most likely German, and possibly Ingridglas. Mine is the same blue.

Glen:
I have copies of a few pages of an original ad for Walsh Walsh entitled "Colour in Glass" - and I can confirm that they did do iridescent lines in blue and amber (called Blue Iridescent and Amber Iridescent). I can't add any more info than that, I'm afraid.

BJB:
Hi Glen,
Thankyou, I will try that route later when I have time. Am meeting myself coming back at the moment, my Mum had a "routine" keyhole surgery and its all gone horribly wrong, so am dashing between hospital and home at the moment, and trying to do a bit of ebaying at the same time.
Just glad I can multi-task
Barbara
