Caithness Glass?
« on: May 16, 2015, 01:19:06 PM »
Hi all,
I would appreciate your opinion on these glass vases please. Are they Caithness? There are no markings on them at all. They are 12cm (5") tall.
Thank you  :)

I've had to make the photo smaller and it doesn't do them justice. They have heavy paperweight type bases with clear purple tinted glass and then this blue and white swirl pattern. Thanks.

But not THAT small: image is now less that 10 kB - allowed are 125 kB ;). At this size difficult to comment ... but welcome to the board!

Thanks. When I saved the photo it was 96 kb. Not sure why it has uploaded smaller! Will try again.

I'm sure they are Caithness.  :) Probably the neo-wostsit stuff, dichroic. It will be a grey blue in daylight and pale lilac under strip lighting

if this is cased - a clear casing over the colour - then almost certainly from the Caithness Rondo range  -  but if there isn't a clear casing, then probably what were the less expensive Allegro series.

I may well need Specsavers again, but to me the colour doesn't look as though it's 'neodymium (dichroic)', but just simply blue  -  but then again, I am quite old. ;)
