Well done - I still haven't got one of these Goodden ashtrays in white.  :'(

What type of a cigarette rest does it have: smooth, horizontal or vertical ribs?

Perhaps I should clarify what I mean by the ribs  ;D

Looking at Chance Additions, p.40-41 I have shown what I mean by 'vertical' ribs in image 4. 'Standard' ribbing is where the ribs go along the length of the rest. The rests can sometimes be narrower than normal, and I'm sure this defines the much earlier (scarcer) models.

Sorry to have caused a possible confusion... or have I exacerbated this situation :-[   ;D

I'm confused ? On Keith's are these then the "standard" ribs going along the length of the rest? Wouldn't these be horizontal?  ???

If I've got this right 'standard' is what mine is, image 4 David refers to the ribs being  at right angles to mine, or is that more confusing ? ::) ;D ;D

You're right - standard ribs go along the length of the rest. Anything else is much scarcer.

 ;)
The matter of horizontal or vertical can depend on which way around your head or the photo is.  ;D
