Green Glass Turtle, topper?
« on: August 02, 2015, 01:21:20 PM »
Hello and thanks for looking.

I picked up this little guy yesterday at a flea market.  I have no idea what it went to, or the purpose, but it spoke to me.  It's hollow, not sold. The shell of the turtle appears to be made from the surface of bubbling glass.  The bottom has a strange stippling pattern on it, and there appears to be glue residue.  As if it was attached to the top of something.  The bottom surface is also not closed, there are a few holes that expose the inside raw edges of the inner glass bubbles.

I only paid $10.  I bought it because I liked it, but now I want to know what it is...  anyone?

I wonder if somebody has "slumped" an old green flower frog, then pulled it a bit, to create this. ;D

Interesting thought.  I had to look up a flower frog, but I see what your saying. That would be pretty skillful if someone did that!
