The vase measures 18cm tall (~ 7-in) and has a silky sheen, with subtle iridescence. It appears to resemble the finish assigned to Loetz Creta Glatt, but I did wonder if there should be a ground and polished pontil mark?

Any other ideas more than welcome.  :)

Thanks Ivo, do you have a link that features an example? I can only find wine glasses!

For what it is worth, in my experience, unless the shape can be very specifically identified somehow,  many green glatt style vases can be next to impossible to accurately identify.

This type of light satinated iridescence used to be attributed to Riedel Polaun, one of the lesser known makers of stunning art nouveau glass. Apart from the full range of luxury decorated items, the simpler shapes have not been described very well.

I certainly do not disagree with the statement that Riedel made some great glass. I simply feel that almost every house that produced glass in the period produced green iridescent pieces, a large percentage of which can not be identified. The list of companies that made iridescent green glass is quite long, and contains both well known and obscure makers. My point was, that unless this particular shape can be linked directly to Riedel, a Riedel attribution would be extremely difficult to support.
