« on: August 30, 2015, 05:23:33 PM »
Any ideas please on origin of this vase. I suspect probably Chinese or Eastern European but hoped may be better.
All suggestions appreciated, John

height, width? description of base? i.e. is it bevelled all around the edge of the base or is it just cut straight to the edge?

I thought years ago I'd seen some of these beaked vases id'd as Czech, or at least some confusion between Czech makers and Murano perhaps?
So more contemporary Czech might be another avenue to explore maybe (I know nothing about either sector  :-[ )

I think ( but could be wrong), that if it was Murano then it would be bevelled at the edge of the base.
Not sure if Polish might be a possible as well?  Sorry not much help really.

I thought Murano and possibly Fratelli Toso but could not find anything quite like it. If 'tourist ware' Murano then the lack of bevels would not be a surprise. Could be contemporary Chinese too I guess but I have not seen any in TK Maxx yet...
