Opalescent Pattern Lamp Base
« on: October 07, 2015, 09:00:17 PM »
Probably a long shot since its a lamp base but thought I'd give it a go. Picked it up today & relatively comfortable its not U.S. as there was mostly European glass around the home, some Lalique, some Inwald & a couple of pieces of older Walther. Lamp body is 8 1/2" height X 3 1/2" diameter & its not a drilled vase, its a true lamp body. Any suggestions or thoughts appreciated...just could not let it sit there.  Ken

Found it. Finial I knew was Aladdin Anglia but could not locate in either Aladdin references with are comprehensive. Found on Aladdin website though, Aladdin G-189 Opalique with matching Opalique Anglia finial, 1939 only.

Yes M...fooled me entirely & I thought I knew Aladdin really well but when it does not appear in either reference thats that but since I knew the Finial was Aladdin I just figured someone had used this finial because it was close to matching the lamp. Went through the Mystic Knights website & saw a category Opalique lamps which were made 1938-39 & there it was. Excellent buy at less than 4% of BV.
