Purple vase with clear base - looks like Whytefriars
« on: October 30, 2015, 02:44:19 PM »
Can anyone help me to identify this vase.

It is purple, 16cm high x 6cm wide

It is cubic in shape with a clear glass base.  When you look through the clear base it all seems purple.

Very much Whytefriars in look but I think it may well be Austrian

Any information would be greatly appreciated

Kind Regards
Donna

Hi and welcome to the board :)

Is it possible to upload your picture in a 600 x 400 pixel format?  that way they enlarge.
It would also help to have a picture of the pattern on the vase, the vase side on and a clear photo of the base along with description of the rim of the vase.

Thanks
m

Hi and welcome. Yes, much larger photos required, please. You could look at this topic for help:

It looks a bit like Ingridglas, but very difficult to tell.

The vase rim is mostly flat but there is a slight v shaped indentation on one of the sides.

To the best of my limited knowledge, this is definitely not Whitefriars (note spelling), and probably not Ingrid either.

Hi David,

Sorry about the spelling mistake!

I know it wasn't Whitefriars.  So if it's not Ingrid, have you got any clue where it originated from.  It was bought in Norway if that's any use.

Kind Regards
Donna

Could it be Wiktor Berndt or Josef Schott Glass? Swedish - Though the base is making me doubt it.
