Topic: Large Antique Firing Glass ?

I could do with some help on this glass. It is 6 inches in height. Is it a 'Captains' Glass? I have never seen a firing glass this size and get very little information online. I could do with some advice on its age and any other information. I know there are a few Antique collectors on here and hope you can help. Thanks.

        I hope the news is not too disappointing but these glasses are well known to collectors and dealers of antique glass , they are thought to be late Victorian/early 20th century Georgian revival pieces , there is no record of this form in this size being made in the 18th C  the norm being around 4 ins tall,

Not too happy to be honest. But I think the captains glass is definitely an impressive piece. In my minds eye it was a blown up version looking like this piece. Unfortunately this was bought in my absence at auction and it was not cheap! No idea why he bid on it as it was not in the list we wanted. The lot I wanted sold a couple of lots later for under the bid I had said to bid up to!! He got caught up in the moment I suppose but to be honest someone else wanted it so should get the majority of it back (and a lesson learnt which is priceless.) I was hoping you would take a look Peter. I do value your expertise and appreciate you taking time to answer. Much appreciated.   Pete
