Stevens & Williams vase
« on: March 07, 2016, 01:23:51 PM »
Attached is a Stevens & Williams vase. It has been attributed recently in an auction catalogue, and online as designed by Keith Murray. As a glass dealer of many years, I have not come across any illustrations to confirm this from contemporary magazines.  Can anyone confirm that this is a Keith Murray design and if it appears on his design records.

I've seen two recently, both attributions were for S & W's, Keith Murray design, I've looked in my book there is a similar vase but were the foot joins the body is different. A dealer I spoke to had a green variety and he swore it was a Murray piece and added that these were rarely signed so I didn't get it, might have been wrong as it was a good price  ::) ;D ;D

I have had a KM vase with the different foot. Not signed. Retailers did not allow
makers names i.e. Heals, Libertys etc.

My vase had the same larva textured design as Keith but was a trumpet shape.
