despite the label, this piece looks very different from the usual 'appearance' of Murano animals I've been accustomed to seeing - those translucent watery sommerso shades etc. sometimes with gold or aventurine inclusions - is this opaque black and white mixture typical of recent production from that studio? - I've really no idea.
do we know if the base is supposed to look shiny or dull and unpolished?
label wise, and outside of the one that does state the studio name, there is one specific scalloped edged sticker with a slightly different word layout to this one, that was used apparently by A. S. exclusively - other labels are generic and perhaps less reliable, but I get the point re the possible connection.
Lastly - labels have been known to change hosts, sometimes to improve provenance. Apologies for seeming pessimistic, but Murano studios can present some of the most difficult areas for positive attribution in the whole of the glass spectrum.
