ID help: Bowl - Triangular form - Blue. ID = Kumiko Nakajima

<< < (2/4) > >>

brewster:
The 2002 date is questionable. Her CV online says in 2002 she was an undergraduate student in Japan in "art planning", not finishing her bachelor degree until the following year. It also says she learnt glassblowing 2003-04 in Japan. Her Jam Factory time was 2007-08.

So I suggest if it really is hers, it was probably not made in Australia.

She has a web site with contact facility. Ask her.

:D You sniped me on reply there Trevor!

Yeah, I've just had a look at her web site and Bio page would suggest 2002 is too early, unfortunately.

Attempted contact her for any info on this mystery item.

ahremck:
My bowl is undated so its date is uncertain.  Why are you so certain of its Australian production?

Ross

misha:
Have doubt now.  :D

Really only an assumption based on found here [most of what I have found locally has been of 'local' production and that it's weight and form being typical of Aus. art glass, I suppose.

ahremck:
Most times that is fair assumption - unfortunately glass travels some times quite long distances.

Some examples

(1)   A paperweight bought in Bright, VIC some years ago by Josh Simpson a well known US artist.
(2)   Another Paperweight by Michael Bang(of Holmegaard) bought in an op-shop in Melbourne.
(3)   A small vase by Don Richardson(also USA) bought in the bazaar on Philip Island.
