Help Id Nash chintz style bowl
« on: December 08, 2008, 06:21:46 PM »
Again, thanks for the discussion on the Boda pieces.

I picked up this bowl several months ago, again here in Virginia / US.

The shallow bowl measures 10 1/4" in diameter and 2 1/4" high.

It's difficult to get decent pics, but I'll try a little later against a black ground.

Very well done with clear border and pulled feathering with cintra like lighter opalescent between.

The base is finished with a ground foot ring and ground recessed pontil.

My first reaction was a Nash chintz style piece.  But perhaps Steuben.

Any ideas? thanks!  Shawn

I don't think it's either Steuben or Nash. I've been collecting Steuben for over 30 years and Nash and Libbey/Nash over 10. I wish I could give you some info, but I have never seen anything like your piece.
