Monart Vasart Strathern = Nazeing ???
Tony H:
Hi Guys
I have made a new album "Monart Vasart Strathern" in it I have placed 5 photos of a pink vase, I would be grateful for some help with ID.
It is 6" high the top is 5 and 1/8" in dimeter the base is 2 and 3/4" in diameter the pontil has been pushed in so the base is concave in the centre, and the inside of the base is convex to match, it looks to be cased in clear glass. The weight is 0.455kgs

I have had a look at your web site (some nice glass) I could not find a match but my piece has the same look as some of these pieces, what do you think.

Hello Tony! I've not had a chance to speak to you since we met in Perth last year! I suspect you may have Nazeing, or maybe even Gray-Stan there. You need Nigel Benson and/or Geoff Timberlake. I think it might be a Nazeing shape, but I could well be wrong. :D

Thank you for your help, just wishful think I also thought it could be Nazing.
I am not sure who you think I am but I have only been to Perth in Australia and that was over 30 years ago. I am Tony H in New Zealand.
Frank:
I don't think it's Nazeing, just another unknown. Similar greeny blue pieces too.

I'm fairly sure it is Nazeing.
Ive got a piece on a shelf behind me now, it was identified here by Nigel Benson. It is a different pattern but same shape. It has a ground pontil though. Ive got another piece that hasnt yet been ID'd which is certainly from the same factory as yours. Same colour, same pontil but is a different recognised Nazeing shape. Both shapes appear in the Timberlake book on Nazeing. A larger version of yours is on P51 plate35 in the same colour and shape. The book does mention 6inch vases in this shape.
Here is a link to my unidentified piece- on an earlier post. http://www.glassmessages.com/index.php/topic,6073.0.html
