Wedgwood animals/birds remain common generally, and some of the candleholders reasonably so - but most of the early large 1970s vases are seen now quite rarely - at least where I go shopping, so thought I'd shove this amethyst 'Snowflake' piece up for viewing........ one of this morning's charity shop finds. Height is something like 10 inches (about 250 mm) and there's a good polished pontil depression, but it lacks the Wedgwood Vase backstamp so possibly a second, since the top rim is slightly uneven, but only guessing.
Most of the early vases are now far less common than even 5 - 7 years ago - although this smaller 'Snowflake' piece not yet rare.
Believe the range was offered in topaz, amethyst, blue, and clear.
Surprising perhaps that very few Wedgwood vases appear on the Board - many are attractive - maybe partly they've played second fiddle to Baxter's 'bark' series, or just that Wedgwood doesn't cut it with collectors.
