Keith, I bought an identical vase last year at a car boot and it held six snowdrops which I gave away, so they are still out there to be found

Sometimes, it gets shifted to another shop in another area, where that sort of thing will sell, but I haven't ever found evidence of anybody buying a 40th anniversary plate anywhere, at any time.

You have now Sue!    The middle one is the Ruby (40th) wedding, the other two are 50th and undated... all have since gone to our local charity shop.

You had a reason to buy it, Anne, for photographic records, not for somebody as a gift, and you did send it back to a charity shop. I'll give you an A* for effort, but I'm not absolutely convinced it counts.
