Your ID of recently sold modern St Louis Dahlia
« on: September 15, 2016, 08:47:31 PM »
Just recently a weight (not mine) sold for a good price which I did not expect it too.
Item number 112121494465. I thought it was virtually the same as a weight I have in my collection but I did not think it was St Louis.
           Photos are my weight.

Your paperweight and the one on eBay are both recent Chinese.  You don't say how large yours is, but the one on eBay is over 3.5" diameter, plus the irregular circle on the bottom plus many other things scream China.

Thank you for the reply.  The diameter of my weight is 3.2 inches, I thought it was Murano when I bought it but I bought it because I considered it to be very well designed.
As you know there are chinese millefiori shipped into Murano and then they are used because it is an easier way to make weights with canes in them.
There are some excellent chinese and murano weights but the percentage is low compared to other professionals.
I am very much into scottish weights but have a variety according to my interested sighting.
     Regards Roger.
