Is this Czech? If so who made it please?
« on: November 20, 2016, 10:06:42 PM »
My friend has asked me to research this piece, sorry this is the only photo I have at the mo, does anyone recognise it please?
I am pretty sure it's Czech but have only been able to find two other photos/references to it on the Internet and they have mentioned it could be a Rosice or Hermanova piece. I would really love to be able to give my friend more information and would be very grateful if anyone could shed some light.
Many thanks in advance and apologies for the poor photo

Produced in Poland at the Zabkowice glassworks I believe and designed by Eryka Trzewik-Drost.

From what I gather these date to around the late 60s, circa 69.

Interestingly, both Eryka Drost and her husband Jan Drost designed for the Zabkowice Glassworks and were affiliated with the glassworks for over 40 years. Only until recently have many of their designs been correctly attributed and have found the recognition they deserve!

You're most welcome.  They certainly did design some amazing pieces.

I noticed there was an exhibition covering some of their designs in Poland earlier this year:

Hope your friend finds the info helpful.
