Ian Bamforth Incalmo and Graal Vase
« on: November 21, 2016, 10:25:09 PM »
I bought this in 2013 from Ian Bamforth, brother to Vic, who operates from the Ruskin Glass Centre (slight wobble there with Ian's date). Always wanted an Incalmo vase and the Graal inclusion was just a great bonus. The strong earthy colours really blend well and the (almost) Celtic designs really set it off beautifully.

Take a look at his Incalmo pieces 'Spanish Dancer' which shows a triple Incalmo piece  :o

sorry I missed this.  That's lovely David.  Great colour combination as well.

Thanks m. I was wondering why you were so quiet! I forget to mention that it has a slight iridescence as well.

I do like his work, but I was most surprised that he didn't do well at the last Glass Fair and it's probably put him off from exhibiting there in the future. Great shame.

I haven't been to a glass fair for a while now.
I must try and make May as would love to go again, but the November one is always on a clashing weekend for me.

Just lots going on here and I've not a lot to add to anything being posted at the moment.  I am wanting some help with some very old Bohemian pieces I've bought and wondering whether to post them or not as no-one seems to be particularly keen on that era  :-\

I don't often go anywhere on GMB now except the British glass section, so would probably miss your post, to be honest! Worth posting in the Czech section though? I'm sure there's someone still there who can help. Ivo has not been on for ages and appears to be on Twitter now. Hope to see you in May - perhaps I can persuade your twin to make an appearance 😀

oh that's a shame.
You might miss some lovely piece of relevant glass if you don't go to the glass section :)
I do read the posts but it's not often I recognise the glass or have anything to add.
