I really don't think IoWSG made mushrooms of this construction.
I'm absolutely sure Mtarfa did, I have one with a red and greenish black interior and this wide clear rim. It's not marked, I don't think, but the colours led me to Mtarfa some time ago.
I can't find it. It's not where I last saw it.
I don't know if Mtarfa used gold and silver foil though.
It could be something from St. John's Wood, who were doing some gold and silver foil stuff under license to IoWSG until it went all pear-shaped.

I know Wedgwood did similar too, but a completely different shape with a big round dome.

It is an English maker but I have forgotten who, sorry.  :(

I have seen vases, perfumes, drinking glasses, bowls etc, all with a black centre and gold leaf, cased in clear, often the black and gold leaf is like a large disc set within the item.

I don't think it is St John's Crystal Isle of Man,  and I know I have seen this signature before... I will put my thinking cap on. :)

Yes,  you are right m,  and of course I have some of their birds and took a while to find out where they came from.
Well done!  The signature is OG but I was reading it as OC. ! :)

 :)
This is a little embarrassing. I have a lovely vase with silver and gold foil and blue strapping made by Ourglass. I got it in the Strathearn Galley in Crieff several years ago and have not seen hide nor hair of them since.
Perhaps because they've gone a bit hide-y and hair-y in the meantime?
The information I was given about these makers at the time, was that they are a brother and sister team.
It is marked Ourglass '03 P.T.  and it would have been in '03 I bought it. I don't know what the P.T. is for.
