I have picked up a nice little red and clear glass bowl but don't know the maker.
It is a similar design to what i believe is a Harrachov 5/3576 bowl shown in pic 4, but there are several differences between the two.
The rim of the red bowl is thinner and the three indentations are much more folded.
There are tooling marks on the pulled point of the red bowl which give the impression that it is less well made.
The base of the grey bowl is much wider with a highly polished diamond shape to it, whereas the red bowl has an irregular shaped base.
The grey bowl has a thick clear casing whereas the red bowl clear casing is only visible from certain angles at the base.
The overall 'feel' of the bowls is very different. I would describe the grey bowl as being more geometric, angular and masculine, whereas the red bowl is more flowing, shaped and feminine.
Both bowls are similar dimensions and weights. The red bowl is 21cm long, 12cm wide, 8.5cm high and weighs 975g.
Is the red bowl a variation of the Harrachov 5/3576, or is it a different maker entirely?
Thanks
Matt
