Help with identifying glass bowl
« on: December 31, 2016, 12:13:52 PM »
Hi!

I am trying to find a replacement for a glass bowl which is part of a set my in-laws have, there is a similar big bowl as well in the same design but I don't have any indication as to who produced it and so on, so my searches so far have been fruitless. I believe it is Scandianivan at least, but that is all I really have to go on beyond the picture.

Any help anyone can give will be much appreciated as then I can start trying to actually find a replacement once I know who produced it :)

Welcome to GMB and happy 2017!

Nice pressed glass - something like pine or fir tree pattern. I do not recognize the manufacturer, could well be Scandinavian, France, Turkey or even Far East; second half 20th century, I'd say.

Sorry, can't help further - good luck in your searches!

It looks like a Hadeland Glass (https://www.hadeland-glassverk.no/) Furu bowl designed by Severin Brørby.

More information (in Norwegian) here: https://nbl.snl.no/Severin_Br%C3%B8rby

According to this page Furu (= pine) was designed in 1971.
