V.Nason Glass Sculpture
« on: March 06, 2017, 06:33:03 AM »
Hello everyone!

Let me go ahead and give a background story. My friend bought a house from a 70 year old lady who decided to move closer to her family. She lived across the street from where my friend already lived but his was a rental. She had a converted attic (air conditioning, plumbing, etc) and used it just to stash a bunch of things. One of the things happened to be this glass sculpture or paperweight with the the following inscribed on the bottom of it:

V.Nason
151/750
Made In Italy

Mine looks exactly like this one that was for sale on eBay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/V-Nason-Murano-Italy-Art-Glass-Sculpture-Nice-/201662285096

Here are some of the differences I noticed between mine and that one:
-Mine is missing the sticker on the side
-The bottom of mine isn't scratched up

I'm hoping one of you can share some knowledge on this piece!

It is called a 'Love Knot'
I wouldn't worry too much about the absence of a label. The piece is signed and, I would say, your item will be 151 of 750 made. The scratches to the base of the one you link to will have been caused by moving the item around. If yours has been in an attic, it won't have been moved much.
When I bought a piece from the factory in Murano, it too had no label. I suppose I could have asked for one, but it was signed.
If I know, I'll comment. If I think I know, I'll have a go. If I have no idea, I'll just keep quiet and learn from others, so the next time I'll know.

Thanks Della!

Would you happen to know how I can get this appraised to find out the value?

The best way, now that you know what it is, is to google, or use Ebay for sold items.
