Brought this back from Ardingly this week, it was labelled at 1800-1845, maker unknown. I plumped for it because non-pressed frosted celeries in this age range are pretty rare in my experience but I am left wondering who the maker is.
I'm guessing that the date is more likely 1850s, an example of a frosted ribbed celery, but that's as far as I go. Weight is reasonable but not really heavy. Some minor imperfections in the glass (air bubble etc) and more particularly the frosting, but feels quality overall. I thought the top edge of the celery was unusual because it appears to have been pinched like semi-circular thumb gouges around the top end. I wondered of this was characteristic of any particular place or maker.
Any ideas to tie it down a little more firmly? Blow ups of foot and edge provided..
