Pair of dark green vases, hand-painted floral decoration
« on: April 15, 2017, 09:41:13 AM »
What look to be a good quality pair of vases with well executed hand-painted floral decoration. The glass is very deep green, so dark that even the auction described them as black, almost have a funerary feel. Height 16cm approx, expected amount of scuffs and light scratches to the undersides.

Anyone care to suggest an origin, please?

:) They are nicely decorated, but I'm afraid I don't believe they're a true pair. If they were, the pictures would be mirror images of each other, rather than facing the same way.
It is unusual to find green being used as "black", it's normally amethyst or red. :)
