Edols Elliott paperweight
« on: June 10, 2016, 08:54:13 AM »
A beautifully smooth, tactile, blown paperweight, with 'Edols Elliott' engraved on the side. Didn't take long to find a link to the gallery:

A collaborative work between Ben Edols and Kathy Elliott it would appear, and some great work by this couple.

Normally Ben Edols blows the form and Kathy Elliott cold works it.  Ben is a master of cane work as well - here are two pieces I own by him.

Thanks Ross, for opening up this thread (which was a bit 'threadbare'). Very nice paperweights, I particularly like brown threaded one. Very intricate.

David the brown items is a vase c.30cms in diameter.  It was formed with one continuous strand that was then pushed and pulled so it really looks at first glance like knitting.  There are curving ribs of thicker and thinner from top to bottom as well.  Altogether a stunning piece of work.
