Is this scandinavian glass art?
« on: May 12, 2017, 04:16:50 PM »
Hi all,
I hope anyone recognizes the glass object attached. It seems to be scandinavian, but more info is missing.
Any help is appreciated!
Regards,
Mario

It could be a drinking horn in the style of a Viking beer horn which would more than likely have had a stand.  As to who made it I've no idea, but these seem to have been made by different glassworks.
Alternatively, it could be a cornucopia or horn of plenty.  I regret not buying one of these in the past which I suspect could have been made by Blenko ::)
Not much help I'm afraid, but it might just spark a few suggestions from others.

the Blenko horn vases are quite large, apparently - not that I've every owned one  -  something in the region of 18"/22" according to the book, and a noticeably different shape to this one.          I agree it does look like a cornucopia/horn of plenty.
Sorry this is unhelpful.
