Adam:
Sorry, not a clue re maker.  I'm fascinated, however.  Appears to have been pressed round, re-shaped square (quite common) but then to have a hand-made handle applied.  Unusual?

I have been told by a little bird that it could possibly be the Monticello Pattern made by Indiana for Tiara.
Can anyone confirm this........???????  :?

Connie:
Yes, that is correct - Indiana Monticello in amberina.

I knew I recognized the pattern.  The pattern was originally made by US Glass c. 1926 and known simply as #308.  Then it was reintroduced in 1940 by US Glass Factory R aka Tiffin Glass as Williamsburg to capitalize on the popularity of Colonial Revival items.

Then Indiana Glass reproduced the pattern as Monticello.  The square basket was a piece added during this time period and not previously made.

vintagerose:
Thanks for the confirmation Connie. Do you have any reference to the initials T.J. on the piece. I am sure they stand for the artist as I have seen other baskets, but with different initials.  Hopefully T.J. is in higher demand.
