neither, in fact ............   I'm sweet enough as it is  ;)   ...............  but have to say that apart from my dry January months, I've become addicted to a drop of a good single malt in the coffee - does wonders for the flavour ;D

It goes way beyond my knowledge also Anne.  But I honestly don't think the thickness of a mold is the only, or deciding, factor.  I think the batch or recipe is probably the primary cause of pieces looking nearly opaque v those which are handblown looking very translucent.  I said 'think' because I honestly don't know as I am not a glassmaker  :-[

came across this article accidentally and remembered this deep blue opaline vase with a fluted rim (and the green one on CW also with a fluted rim).
This article shows a number of vases and patterns with the relief molded flowers ... none have a fluted rim though  ???
